It’s church, but not as you know it!
A creative, welcoming, all-age way to explore faith, make friends and discover Jesus together.
Messy Church is a way of being church for people of all ages. We come together to be, make, eat and celebrate — exploring the Christian faith in a relaxed and accessible way.
At the heart of Messy Church is Jesus. We want to give people the opportunity to discover who Jesus is, explore the Christian faith and grow in their relationship with Him — all in a relaxed and accessible setting.
WHAT IS MESSY CHURCH?
Messy Church is centred around five values that shape everything we do.
Christ-centred
Jesus is at the heart of all we do. Through stories, activities, worship and conversation, we explore what it means to follow him.
All-age
Messy Church is for everyone — children, young people and adults. We believe everyone has something to contribute and something to discover.
Creativity
We love getting hands-on! Creativity is a big part of how we explore faith together, with crafts, activities, games and plenty of opportunities to make and create.
Hospitality
Everyone is welcome. We want Messy Church to be a place where people feel at home, are valued and can enjoy good food, friendship and the generous welcome of God.
Celebration
We make space to celebrate God, life and the good things we share together, through songs, stories, prayer, food and fun.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
Each month will look slightly different, but every gathering will have three simple parts:
1. CREATE
We start by getting stuck in with a range of creative activities, games and challenges. These help us explore the theme and give everyone a chance to join in.
2. CELEBRATE
We come together as an all-age community to hear a Bible story, sing, pray and think about what it might mean for us.
3. EAT
We finish by sharing food together. It's a chance to relax, chat and enjoy being together.
It's relaxed, it's messy, and there's no pressure to have all the answers!
WHO IS IT FOR?
Everyone!
Messy Church is particularly designed to welcome people who don't already belong to another church, but absolutely everyone is invited.
You might be a family looking for something different to do together. You might be curious about Christianity. You might have grown up going to church but haven't been for years. Or you might simply want to meet some people and see what it's all about.
You don't need to believe anything, know any Bible stories or have any experience of church.
Just come along and see.

You don't need to book a place but If you can let us know you're planning to come, it'll help us prepare enough food and resources — but if you decide at the last minute, that's absolutely fine too.
